Itinerary

  • 03:00 AM – Departure from Cusco: Your adventure begins with a prompt early morning pickup from your accommodation in Cusco. Settle in for the scenic 2.5-hour drive towards Mollepata, a quaint mountain town that serves as the gateway to our trek.
  • 04:30 AM – Arrival in Mollepata: Upon arrival in Mollepata, enjoy some time to stretch your legs, have breakfast (included), and gear up for the day ahead. This is an excellent opportunity to grab any last-minute essentials you might need for the trek.
  • 05:30 AM – Transfer to Soraypampa: After breakfast, we embark on a short drive to Soraypampa, the official starting point of our hike. Soraypampa offers stunning views and serves as a base for the famous Salkantay Trek.
  • 06:30 AM – Begin Hike to Humantay Lake: From Soraypampa, we start our ascent towards the breathtaking Humantay Lake. The trail is a mix of gradual inclines and rugged terrain, rewarding hikers with unparalleled views of the Andean landscape. The hike covers approximately 7 km (4.3 miles) round trip, with an elevation gain of around 400 meters (1,312 feet).
  • 8:00 AM – Arrival at Humantay Lake: Reach the mesmerizing Humantay Lake in the late morning. The lake’s vivid turquoise waters, set against the imposing backdrop of the Humantay Peak, create a picture-perfect moment. Take your time to explore, capture photos, and soak in the tranquility of this sacred place.
  • 10:00 PM – Begin Descent to Soraypampa: After fully experiencing Humantay Lake, we’ll start our descent back to Soraypampa. The return hike offers a chance to appreciate the landscape from a new perspective.
  • 12:00 PM – Drive to Mollepata for Lunch: Once back in Soraypampa, we board our transport to Mollepata where a delicious lunch awaits. This meal is a chance to enjoy traditional Peruvian cuisine and reflect on the journey with your fellow trekkers.
  • 1:30 PM – Departure Back to Cusco: After lunch and some well-deserved rest, we begin our journey back to Cusco. This is a great opportunity to relax and share stories from the day.
  • 3:30 PM – Arrival in Cusco: We conclude our memorable tour with a drop-off at your accommodation in Cusco. Rest and relive the memories of the stunning landscapes and the serene beauty of Humantay Lake.
